Honey-Vanilla Compound Butter

This spread adds a sweet touch to any kind of bread. Tip: Balance the sweetness by garnishing your treat with a pinch of flaked sea salt.

½ cup unsalted butter, divided (room temperature)

2 ½ Tbsp creamed honey

1/8 tsp vanilla bean paste

Flaked sea salt, such as Maldon, for finishing (optional)

Brown ¼ cup of butter and set aside. Whip the other ¼ cup of butter with an electric mixer. Whip in the creamed honey and vanilla bean paste until well combined. Slowly add the brown butter.

Chill the mixture in the fridge until the butter reaches an easily spreadable consistency. Store in the refrigerator.
