NERF WARS: A NEW FOAM—On January 27th, kids in Grades 4 to 7 can have after-hours fun at the library. Bring one Nerf weapon, foam ammunition and eye-protection, and prepare for action. This event is popular, so register early.

THE MARCO CLAVERIA PROJECT—On January 27th, the founding member of ¡Bomba! will be bringing the Latin beat to the Arden. Winner of the 2015 World Music Award, the Marco Claveria Project brings together Afro-Peruvian, Cuban, Brazilian and Chilean rhythms. They’ll be playing from their new release Origenes.

NEW NORTH COLLECTIVE—On January 28th, come hear these talented musicians who come to us from Canada’s Territories. Each member brings his or her own musical style from rock to throat singing. Come and hear the musical imagery of northern Canada.

WINTER CONCERT I & II—On January 29th, students attending Grades 1 to 6 at the Suzuki Charter School will be performing Baroque and Jazz selections. Students will be playing cello, double bass, flute, guitar, piano, trumpet, recorder, violin and viola. The two shows are free and open to the public.

I DREAM IN COLOUR—On January 30th, create an abstract work of art in a painting workshop. Learn how to use acrylic paints and palette knives on a large canvas. Wear old clothes. Professional paints and tools will be supplied.

4UBYUS—On January 31st, City of St. Albert Department of Community and Social Development presents this conference for adults who work with youth on a regular basis. A panel of high-school and post-high school students will share their views on what issues they face today. There will be open discussions and a networking session.
