POKEMON GO DAY!—On August 24th from noon to 8 pm, Pokemon will take over the St. Albert Public Library. There’ll be a scavenger hunt, a card-making station, an all-day Pokestop “lures” outside the library, a spotting board to keep track of which Pokemons have been nabbed and an extra special Pokemon craft.

DROP-IN CRAFT THURSDAY—On August 25th from 11 am to 4 pm, come on out to the last drop-in craft day. A donation of $2 to $3 will get you in for 5 hours of learning a heritage craft. Sponsored by the Musée Héritage Museum.

FOOD TRUCKS—The Food Trucks return to St. Albert for a sweet and savoury summer evening. Sample mouth-watering morsels from 17 of the region’s best food trucks while listening to live local music including one-man-band, Paul Woida. Kick back in the beer garden, tour the grain elevators and take a shot at the 50/50 raffle. Don’t forget to bring non-perishable items for the Food Bank. The event is from 5 pm to 9 pm.

RINGETTE FOR ALL—Starting on August 27th from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm, there’ll be a free classes for beginners and experienced ringette players. Qualified instructors will be there to help participants learn the basics of the game. To participate you’ll need a pair of skates, gloves and a certified helmet. Sticks and rings will be provided. Registration is required for this event.

BACK TO SCHOOL!—Get your pencils and calculators primed for a new school year. For public schools: kindergartners have a staggered “back to school” week from August 31st to September 2nd; grades 1 to 12, start August 31st. For Catholic schools: everyone starts on September 1st.
